Submarine Drone (CPS 5 Project)
The CPS 5 is an advanced open-source underwater ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle). This project merges precise 3D-printed components with custom electronics to achieve waterproof integrity and precise control underwater.
Hardware & Control
Inside the submarine, a PixHawk flight controller works alongside a Raspberry Pi. This setup allows for stable navigation, depth-hold stabilization, and a clear 1080p live video feed transmitted to the surface via an Ethernet tether. Five brushless motors handle the propulsion.
Pressure Resistance & Sealing
Because 3D-printed materials can be porous under high water pressure, all core electronics and the camera are housed inside robust acrylic tubes. The 3D-printed end caps are carefully sealed using epoxy resin to ensure absolute watertightness down to depths of up to 85 meters.
